Burg Wertheim - Reservar uma mesa

First stop on the Romantic Road, this is the sun terrace/restaurant at the castle. The staff are helpful if busy, so don't be shy in grabbing a menu and finding a table. You have to walk up from the town you can't drive up there but it's worth it if you can get a view by the edge/wall that overlooks the town. It was a lovely sunny evening when we were there so all the better. You can stop for a coffee or glass of wine, or have a full meal. We had the spicy/sizzing prawns definitely not for a delicate tastebuds, but we loved them and washed them down with a cold beer. Good value and would recommend in good weather.

The food here is OK and the view over the town is wonderful but the service was simply awful. They were not over busy but ... no welcome, no saying where to sit, 20 mins to take a drink order, served parties out of order, sullen service, dishes came at odd times, delivered second drink after I 'd finished meal ... all it needed was a smile and a I 'll be with you soon and it would have been OK. If they read this and wonder why they didn 't get a tip then maybe it will make them think!

The outdoor ambience is great as always with views of the river and the city. The food carving that my Hubby ordered was good, a little expensive, but it was worth it. I also ordered ice cream and that was so tasteful. The indoor ambience is good for the family and large group/crease when the restaurant sometimes offers live music and opera. They also provide a wedding reception.

A nice dinner at the castle overlooking Wertheim. My wife has Celiacs and has to eat gluten for free. After a little they stumbled it out and she had a delicious fish meal. I also had the bratwurst and sauerkraut very good. Nice tomato soup for an appetizer. They had live music and it was a good cover band with a great blues. Netter Server. Everything in a very pleasant evening

We went to the top of the hill and enjoyed the architecture and history of the castle. The restaurant has a sweet area to eat outside or just enjoy a glass of wine as we did!
