Cafe De La Bourse - Reservar uma mesa

We rolled up on a rainy Sunday, a group of 10 without a reservation, looking for a quick feed upon our arrival in Le Mans. I must admit I wouldn’t have picked out Le Bourse on its looks (brightly lit with generic hotel style decor) but we were immediately impressed with the reception we received, the polite, efficient service which continued throughout our dinner. 10 out of 10 to the truly excellent staff. The menu is simple modest but we all enjoyed our main course dishes very much. Puds were also fairly good, with ice-cream homemade. Decent wines good value too.

Lovely spot and staff were nice. Meal disappointing. Starter goats cheese salad had one tiny piece of goats cheese and lots of lettuce. Main chicken and chorizo kebab with rice. Very dry and very small portion. Apple and rhubarb crumble was nice fortunately. Maybe we chose wrong but not good value for money compared to other places in our opinion.

We had lunch for 2 this week and I have nothing but praise. Started with Champagne (after a visit to the prefecture, necessary to celebrate) Steak frites with both the sauce poivre and fromage bleu, wine and then cheese and mousse au chocolat for dessert. Miam miam. High recommend and will visit again !

We enjoyed a reasonably priced steak chips, cooked as requested, and a salmon dish in this restaurant with a nice inexpensive glass of wine each. The staff were friendly and the service faultless. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

We have eaten here twice on our visits over the last year or two. The food is good, prices are reasonable and the location on the Place de La Republique is great. If people watching and decent food are your thing, then this won't disappoint.
