Cafe Grether - Reservar uma mesa

Whenever we travel we always look for a cafe where we can just sit down and taste local sweets. Glad we found one in Badenweiler right across the Cassiopeia Thermal Bath. This establishment has more than a century history and yet there's no hint at its ambiance. What a pity! But its cakes are mouth-watering that we had visited the place thrice for an afternoon tea.

Slow service and a very unfriendly woman in the cash register. We wanted to buy different pieces of cake, but it seemed impossible to pack most cakes. In addition, note that you cannot pay with the card, only cash. It is 2022 and the cash register was very unpleasant and explains why you always have to have cash.

This restaurant is combined with a bakery. They have very nice and tasty cakes. On the other side the coffee was bad (typical German filter coffee). Stay for cake and choose something else than coffee (probably a hot chocolate).

After a first sad coffee in a nearby shop, on the same street we stopped here. It was early in the morning. The cakes were hot, just removed from the debt. Service was nice. I recommend it.

I've ever tasted my best Black Forest cake in this beautiful cafe. Friendly service and good atmosphere.
