Cafe On The Barge - Reservar uma mesa

Popped in here mid afternoon yesterday on a rainy Saturday. We were visiting Bideford from Bristol, and what a surprise this cafe was. So quirky retro loved the old Angela Lansbury musical on the TV. Ordered some coffee, a hotdog, and a toasted egg bap all delicious. Owners and waiter very friendly. The whole experience was fun, and memorable. It's an absolute gem. An eccentric one off. The boat café is also licensed, and I bet there's a rockin' good night to be had there too. Really loved it.

The food at this restaurant is excellent, delicious, and affordably priced. Sitting on the outdoor deck, you can enjoy the view of mullet swimming by and various sea birds feeding - cormorants, egrets, storks, oystercatchers, geese. It is absolutely wonderful to watch. My family and I go almost every weekend and always look forward to our next visit. Anete and Bob are fantastic hosts.

What a hidden gem right up our alley! We love quirky places and the service was fast. We timed it just right to avoid the rain by sitting inside. The food was cheap and delicious, with a fry-up costing only five pounds and a cup of tea priced at £1.50 – perfect prices. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. The meal filled us up nicely for our walk to Appledore on the coast path.

I have to admit, I love this café for its great atmosphere and amazing decor. However, the food is really disappointing. Enjoy a coffee and the surroundings, but don't have high expectations for the quality of the food.

It was such a friendly place to visit, we had food and drinks, would highly recommended it to everyone , will definitely go aboard this boat again
