Canvas Cafe - Reservar mesa

Have visited the gallery on a number of occasions and decided to finally stop for lunch. Location is nice and sitting outside is very pleasant. Our group ordered from the lunch menu although I opted for the 'Special', southern fried chicken with fries. Service was ok but the lady who actually bought out all our meals was great, friendly and helpful throughout. Unfortunately food wise everything fell short. Our dessert arrived first (?) food followed and drinks came very late. My chicken was not bad but the bun was burnt and chips fried to an inch of their lives! Seeing the other dishes, which were fine mine should never have left the kitchen. All in all the location is great, service is good...

Visited for about the time on the May For the past or visits my friend and I have debated whether to return as we have been so disappointed with the service. This cafe used to be a gem. Staff were...great. Food was excellent. Since it changed hands, it went down hill. However, as it is a convenient location for our catch ups, we just kept giving it "one more try". Not any more. Our treatment last week by the male waiter was nothing short of appalling. Surly attiutude and slow service. Spoken to like I had crawled out from under a rock. We are done. No more. Canvas has lost us and I have already told at least half a dozen people. It is a shame but some people just should not be in hospitality...

Canvas Cafe is a little hidden gem tucked within the Fremantle Arts Centre. It has a delightful outdoor setting as you enter the grounds, to then be taken into a quaint little courtyard almost feeling like you've entered a secret garden. I've been here twice...and been impressed by the menu both times, and the food on its own has always been a reason worth making a trip back for. The staff have been friendly and attentive both times, and really nothing to fault about the place. I will be definitely be returning.

Visited the Arts Centre specifically for the cafe as we had heard good things. Dining options seem to be the courtyard, inside room or even a little further outside the cafe as there are chairs and tables scattered in various places. It was wonderful sat under the grape vines especially appreciated by our Eastern States visitors. Service was very friendly and efficient, coffees and drinks were good and the actual meal excellent, very tasty and a good selection even for the vegetarian with us. Reserve uma mesa agora

My hubby and I returned to the same place as the shakshuka that we had was amazing two years ago. Fortunately Canvas did not disappoint us with their shakshuka which served in hot pan, with tinge of spiciness- perfect for the cooling weather. We do...hope that the bread can be served hot and more fluffy though. After the breakfast, I decided to takeaway a beetroot chocolate cake. Fantastic! We love it! We definitely will patronize again when we are back to Perth next time!

Part of the Fremantle Arts Centre, a fascinating piece of architecture dating back to the the Cafe stocks a great range of food, has a wine menu and, most importantly, the grounds outside the cafe have a wonderful coverage of trees that provide shade...from the Perth sun. An added bonus is the constnatly changing series of art on display in the other part of the building (they also offer art classes for kids) and a terrific gift shop.

Visited here based on a friends recommendation and loved it. The food and service were excellent and the courtyard location very cozy, particularly with the heater to take the chill off a cooler winters day.The shakshuka was delicious as was my friends Lentil salad. The green smoothie was perfect as were the gluten free Choc beetroot cake to finish. Well worth a visit.

Easy parking free and friendly staff all added to the experience of enjoying delicious food in a pretty courtyard setting. Excellent choice of food amongst the heritage venue with all its attractions. Even rolling grass to relax on, or let children play. Reserve uma mesa agora
