I visited this restaurant with my wife, son and mother and father in law. I did so on the recommendation of someone who goes to the same bar as my father in law in La Coruna. This might sound like a risky way of doing things but it wasn´t really since a very quick check of TripAdvisor made it clear that Casa Fontao wouldn´t be a turkey. I´m glad we followed through on the recommendation given to my father in law because Casa Fontao is very good indeed. It represents all that is good about eating out in Galicia. Sigue siendo un buen restaurante, pero no pueden con tanto trabajo. No se donde está el embudo, tendrán que analizarlo, no parece que sea en el comedor donde parece que hay suficiente atención, pero de seguir así las críticas irán en aumento. El producto bien y no llega frío a la mesa, las cantidades normales, el precio, como verán, alto si se va a carta. Todo fue para compartir: ensalada de la casa, almejas a la sartén, navajas (penosas, pasadas de plancha, chiclosas, quiero creer que ha sido un despiste) y pimientos rellenos. Sin postres, con cafés y 4 cervezas fueron 72€ (36€/comensal). Buscaremos otro lugar.
Fantastic food, a must to visit when in Ribeira(Riveira)! A short walk from the harbour and city center, a restaurant worth the effort. Really well cooking, very good serving and possibility to sit out-or indoors. The waitress was very helpful on Engllish and gave good advice.
