Casabella on the Thames

We like too have a restaurant in town to celebrate special occasions. This time it was my husbands birthday. Just the two of us to make it more romantic, Unfortunately there was a rather large party in the main dining room with somewhat unruly kids that shouted and screamed a lot. They can't help it - they are kids but it makes you wonder about the parents.Although the noise made us jump a little the atmosphere was the same as it always is. Casabella is located on the Thames river in Chatham. The front part is an older house and the back part is a newer addition (this is the part with the river views). Naturally most people would want a river view although there is lots of seating in the older part of the restaurant. We were fortunate enough to get a river view. Service was very good even though the table cloth could have been cleaner and there was a chip in one of our glasses. Salads were very good with fresh ingredients although the variety of ingredients in the house salad were minimal. One entrée we had was the beef medallions. This restaurant over looks the Thames River. It is situated in an old home with a lovely atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We ordered coconut grouper. Our homemade bread, fresh salad with homemade raspberry dressing and delicious grouper was presented beautifully with a sprig of lavender on the plate. The other dishes coming from the kitchen looked just as beautiful and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and definitely we be back soon..

The food was flavourful, but did not match the description on the menu.I was extremely disappointed with the Shrimp Garlicky on the appetizer menu. From past dining experiences, I was expecting large tiger shrimp. The ones served at Casabella were no bigger than the regular frozen ones that are available at your local grocery store. I could fit 2 on a tablespoon. The total appetizer contained only 5 shrimp, and were served on a plate smaller that a tea saucer. Reserve uma mesa agora

The location on the lake is lovely. There were Canadian geese floating along the water, gorgeous trees and flowers and well kept shrubbery. We sat right at the window, thus could enjoy the view. The food was good and wine plentiful. They had a kid's menu that our children liked (standards like chicken fingers and pasta). Dessert was also great.

Recently had lunch with a couple of friends who were visiting. The food was over cooked but an adequate amount. I would also have expected to have linen napkins at a restaurant like this. The waitress referred to us as yous guys and that really bothers me because service sells in this industry. This place used to be THE place to go...

Always have a great meal and experience at Casabella. When I make reservations, I ask for Eggplant Parmesan, if they don't have Eggplant on hand, they'll message the Chef and get him to pick some up.Their homemade Raspberry Vinaigrette Salad Dressing is the best! My go to Restaurant for sure!

Ask for the table beside the fireplace in the winter. Sit outside and talk to the ducks in the summer. Daily specials are always great. We love the seafood enchilada, a bit of spice but a huge portion that is challenging to finish. Staff are top notch, polite knowledgable and friendly. Reserve uma mesa agora

The restaurant was not busy we had great server. Food was good,the part that I was disappointed my husband brought cake and they charge for cutting the cake,if we new that I would cut my cake,I'm not being mean but I had my birthday there 2 years ago and there was no changes.

I always like this place. It's got beautiful view of the river for us to enjoy. I never had any bad food. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating.
