Castle Hill Inn - Reservar uma mesa

We have loved eating at the bar at Castle Hill, but this past week was a real downer. If you eat outside at the restaurant, you are no longer allowed to use the indoor restroom and are required to use the port-a-potty in a hard-to-find, and if at nighttime, a poorly lit location. The bartender explained that management decided that if people are spending $700 for dinner inside they don 't want people coming near them on their way to the indoor bathroom. Discrimination? And the rocky and unlit steps lead to a tiny trailer outhouse (most weddings have nicer ones than this) with a door that opens out, so if you are ascending the unsteady stairs and someone is coming out (in my case, the cleaner...

Such a disappointment the last few times we have been here. We have noticed the food has gone down hill. This last time we had a hamburger that was supposed to be ground sirloin that was dry, tasteless and full of gristle and didn’t resemble any hamburger I’ve ever had. The Steak Frites, which is usually very tasty, was completely different from the last time we had it, and not prepared the same way, it was raw, in spite of requesting it medium, and the meat was tasteless and a poor quality. We love to come here, but the last few times have been such a disappointment with under cooked food, poor quality, and most recently served cold and unappealing. Spectacular location for dinner or drinks on the lawn, patio. The food was delicious and views were incredible. We dined on the patio and caught the sunset, followed by the Newport Bridge lighting up. The eggplant rigatoni was very tasty. The haddock/scallop dish was so good we asked for more bread to dip in the broth. Our waitress was young and sweet, but may have forgotten to check on us a few times. Lengthy waits for water refill, and a bottle of wine. The manager noticed our dismay and came right over to rectify and apologize. Luckily for us any waiting time was filled with gazes and photo opportunties over Narragansett Bay.

Amazing views and great drinks. We only came here for a pre dinner cocktail and to check out the views but would love to stay here! Drinks were reasonably priced and the staff was very welcoming. Would definitely come back here in the future!Rooms: 5/5
