Catskill Animal Sanctuary

Ever since visiting the Catskill Animal Sanctuary for the first time in 2011, we were hooked. It’s very much a sanctuary for its visitors as it is for our animal friends living there. It’s peaceful and beautiful. Their mission is a great one and easy to want to support. Founder Kathy Stevens is my hero and an angel to be around- so positive and full of energy. We became volunteers and volunteered for years before we moved too far to make the commute. We now visit any chance we can get. My husband and I got married there in 2016, we are members and supporters. Such a great mission to get behind. They are truly in it for the animals and do a great job spreading the vegan word. Wonderful staff, very friendly even though we arrived for our tour around the sanctuary late! Most of the animals are very friendly and many roam free around the area. You are able to connect with the animals on the tour which is very informative.

I went to Catskill Animal Sanctuary last weekend and fell in love with many of the animals (especially Michael, the hugable turkey). The guides are very knowledgeable and compassionate.

So many animals—pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks, donkeys, horses, cows...very friendly tour, followed by delicious house-made vegan food.
