CAVEAU RESTAURANT GURTLERHOFT

We thought we would dine here as it did have good reviews and looks very professional. My wife's chicken came out only half cooked and although they did offer to take it back and cook it more there was no apology, which we thoufht was quite strange as the tourist population eating here obviously is very high and makes up a high percentage of their clientelle. The staff were quite, shall we say, 'get us in and get us out' kind of attitude. not very friendly at all. If you do go there make sure you check your chicken once it comes out and just be prepared that if you're not French they seem to not take to you quite a lot and want you in and out quite quickly.

The hotel front desk recommended that we try this place and kindly made a reservation for us- which was great, since the place was fully @ capacity and not accepting any more reservations when we got there! The food was delicious, and the wine selection was great too. Service was a bit slow, but the place was very full of people so we didn't mind at all.

I'd put this restaurant on our Strasbourg list for a number of reasons - location (right by the cathedral), favourable Trip Advisor reviews, plus it's a cellar restaurant (which always seem to have a special atmosphere). We didn't book - a mistake in Strasbourg but luckily they still managed to squeeze us in. Our waiter was friendly, chatty

We got there at 13:56 they close for lunch, the waiter was great he sat us down and told us to order before the kitchen closed. The place is beautiful and the food is just so fresh and tasty and my blueberry pie was to die for.

Atmosphere was fantastic, waiters accomodating, nice pizza, and good quality pri e, good value for money
