Visiting the land of gourmand cooking any visit to a Michelin restaurant is one of great excitement and anticipation. Even more so after a couple of days facing the limited choices of pizza designed for intolerant kids. The menu at Chai nous promised much; a 3 course tasting menu for €65. Starters included the exotic sounding Tartare de Bar de Ligne, mojito, concumbre et ouefs de truite d’Aquitane. The 4 options for Mains offered a tantalising pork chop, tuna 3 ways, a posh lobster €16 extra) and a Turbot $12 extra). We booked this restaurant on the strength of the reviews, for a special occasion. Unfortunately one of our children was ill and we were 12 minutes late. The lady greeted us with a ‘you’re very late’ before someone who I assume was the chef came out and started a full (and I mean full) lecture about how you can’t turn up late and we should have called. Apparently he had tried to call us but we’d given the wrong number (we supplied our dialling code when we booked). It went on and on, loudly, infront of the small restaurant. It was over the top and embarrassing. We don’t make a habit of being late and do understand it’s frustrating… but there is a way to speak to people, especially customers....

My wife and I are fortunate to travel the world and sample some of the finest dining in the best cities and resorts. in a quiet area, near the port of la flotte, is the chai voo comme chai noo restaurant, an intimate space where the chef florence lawrence offers a nice and creative cuisine. here the product stands out about anything else that the menu always changes according to the station and the local availability of them. while you wait for the meal, you can enjoy a tasting of foie gras: in creme brulee, in ice or in a. the menu is unique and constantly renovated. so there is not much to choose from, but it allows you to try the most tasty of the island of ré this place is ideal to be discovered with family and friends, that is, make sure before the reservation table, as it is usually filled frequently...

Just had evening dinner at this beautiful little restaurant right in the center of La Flotte.The food is simply delicious and any seafood dish is a must.Fantastic place but make sure you book in advance
