Château de Montreuil

Very disappointing stay. No shower in bathroom. Pull out shower head on bath with no screen or curtain. Had to stand in bath and hold with one hand. Breakfast was awful. No croissants they had run out. Asked for boiled egg and after waiting 45 minutes gave up. My husbands scrambled egg was Luke warm. Service appalling not enough staff. Limited dinner menu. Used to have Michelin star 3 years ago but gone downhill since then. Not worth the prices they charge.

We visited Bistro L’ Opus for lunch and found excellent food, friendly staff and pleasant surroundings. The short set menu only gave two choices for entree and plat but we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The chocolate mousse for dessert was also good. Overall this menu gave excellent value for money and an enjoyable dining experience. We will certainly return.

Chose the set menu for lunch. However set menu price only applies if you chose their entree du marche and plat du jour. This is totally unlike all other french restaurants where you can chose from what is listed on the set menu! Most misleading and an unpleasant shock with the bill at the end. Lovely food but tge meal was totally spoilt by the nasty surprise when the bill arrived

-Perfect location to wind down before a long drive from Paris to UK -parking and tesla charger 1-2 mins from the hotel -onsite restaurant offering excellent dinner and breakfast -quaint setting -friendly and accommodative staff (we were running quite late for dinner reservation and they waited for us)

My husband and I spent two lovely days here. Couldn't fault it at all. The gardens are absolutely beautiful rooms beautifully clean . We dined in the restaurant on the Tuesday (shut the day we arrived). The meal was exquisite and excellent service. You can have drinks on the garden just lovely.
