Chez Renata - Reservar uma mesa

This is a Polish restaurant, which we only got to because we could not find anything better along our itinerary from the airport to the Bed Breakfast and also because we were curious to taste Polish food. We are familiar with Polish food, but what was served to us in this restaurant was not even similar to traditional Polish food. We didn't like anything. French law requires restaurants to serve customers water for free. All the other (local) customers in the restaurant were served bottles of cold water, except us. It is assumed that tourists do not know the law in France and are not aware of their right to receive free water and take advantage of this to get tourists to order bottled water...

Is it the staff or the clients that deliver the ambiance? Or both? After checking they would accept our dogs we turned up to find staff that only wanted to make us feel comfortable and at home. This is a small family restaurant where the clients become close relations and get home felt service. The food is very Polish and very good. The wine list is limited but our rosé was good. The cocktails should not be missed and all three courses of our meal were delicious. The only problem is that we do not live nearby! We will certainly go out of our way to come back here and so should you.

I got chicken and beans. It was amazing. They tried very hard and were super friendly even though I didn’t speak a lick of French. One server could speak English well enough to get us by. Would recommend :

Generous portions of genuine Polish cuisine, delivered by an exceedingly helpful, genial staff, accompanied by appropriate soft music and ambiance. Highly recommend.
