A nice place to eat in this little town in Bordeaux, perhaps from St Emilion. I had lunch here while staying at a wonderful B&B, La Petit Girondine, located a couple minutes outside of town. It also has a bar should you require a...nice wine or a cold beer after visiting the nearby vineyards! I just had the menu, which I believe was around I had the pate, which came with nice chewy bread and baby gurkens. then I had the chicken, which was a nicely presented de-boned chicken leg or thigh with a nice sauce and served with chips. We arrived at Chez Sylvie at on a Wednesday in August and were surprise to see how busy the restaurant was. There wasn't enough room to sit out party of outside so we sat inside which was also fairly busy. Menu du jour...was for three courses; good value for money and very enjoyable. The foie gras was delicious, confit du canard was very good, and the goats' cheese salad was very tasty. One thing I did find be odd was that the sardine dish was basically a choice of different tins of sardines. They were served in the chosen tin which was taken off once the plate was put down. After a busy morning sightseeing we were hungry and found signs on the main road to Chez Sylvie. As it was nearly p.m we followed the signs and parked in the car park opposite the restaurant.The menu of the day for gave us...a choice of a Farmer's Salad or sardines to start followed by beef or Toulouse sausage as a main course with three options for dessert, which we were very happy with. There was an ample supply of pieces of bread served in a little bucket which was replenished throughout the first two courses. we have eaten here a few times over the years with friends at lunchtimes and only very recently. For my birthday last Friday. We are never disappointed. This restaurant consistently serves excellent food, very delicious and the service always friendly and generous in pleasant surroundings....Outstanding value,It is always good, excellent choices cooked to perfection and well presented. Like many local workmen, residents and visitors we return over and again to this welcoming restaurant. Best to book, as it tends to be busy. Lovely local cusine which seems to select best of local ingredients and prepare them in traditional styles. Pork, lamb and...game are often on the menu. We prefer it during summer months, when we can eat outside on the terrace but as winter approaches, inside is always warm and cosy!
