I was excited to try Northwood Inn, authentic Eastern European food is rare in the boonies, so we stopped for supper on our return to CT after a lovely October Sunday at Storm King. The property is charming, staff authentically Polish, and friendly. The food? Solid, hot hearty. Service? SLOW. Flash the Sloth DMV slow. Very European Slow. It’s 7p on Sunday, the place was empty, yet we...waited...and...waited...for...everything. I really wanted to like Northwood, it’s unique, but our experience was frustrating. You have been warned. Nothing has changed.

If the service were any slower in that place, we could have our lunch for dinner. It took almost 2 hours from the time we were seated to the time we finally left. and the place was almost empty, only one more table had guests. The food was reheated, the pierogies were one of the worst I had, so hard and tasteless. We only enjoyed the cold cuts plate for appetizer, everything else tasted like it was 2 days old. You can definitely pass on this experience.

The atmosphere was great and the food was excellent! The service was also superb. We would definitely come here again in the future!
