Clever Monkey Craft Grill

Returned to this part of Sarasota to visit as recommended to try this restaurant. Sadly not a good recommendation. There was a quiz in progress and we waited…and waited….and waited to be seated whilst the quiz continued.eventually we were seated however, because of the quiz it had to be outside-and advised that our server would be with us shortly. The hostess returned to say that she could not find our server and asked for drinks orders which were margaritas. Our server then arrived and advised against these drinks as they were too watery and always being sent back! Offered a cocktail menu. The cocktail chosen was bright blue, unpleasant and undrinkable! We arrived at 6:30 pm and although the restaurant had empty tables both inside and outside, we were told we 'd have to wait because they were slammed. There were 3 waiters scurrying about and one host . We sat at a dirty table outside hoping that something would open up but all we got was a 30 minute wait with the young host telling us again that things were backed up. The advertised live music was one man singing various tunes to a music mixer. After 45 minutes we gave up and left so we can 't comment on the food but the overall experience was disturbingly bad.

Second time at this restaurant. Service is amazing and personable with a small town feel. Ron and Sonia took care of me and were excellent! Food is great, especially the baby back ribs. Definitely deserves this five-star review. Thank you clever monkey everyone around here always has positive things to say about your business and it is reasonably priced for the high quality.
