we were looking for the happy cow app while we were looking for a vegan and a carnivore to lunch in oakland. the commonwealth was both the closest and, as I am from england, the pub concept was appealing. this is the next thing I have found in a British pub sports so far, not a huge place, but there are many sitting opportunities and the atmosphere is welcome with friendly staff and customers alike. the menu is small and the vegan choice was limited to an salad, although other salads could be made on request vegan and a peacherbsalbe with Basmati rice, Pitta bread and mango salsa. Love this place. I spent a lot of time here pre-pandemic and after staying away from any indoor dining for two full years, I was happy to see that they had not only survived, but were also very COVID-conscious (beyond local mandates). Under different ownership now, with slightly smaller menu, but Commonwealth still has good coffee and food, great beer, a very warm and welcoming vibe, and wonderful staff.

they have now färger and maische with the option vegan sausage. the maic is vegan and made with mandel milk. I really enjoyed it! the part was quite large for me and I ended it comfortable sharing with my partner.

Went on a Sunday morning, practically had the place to ourselves. They were out of a few things on the menu, but service was friendly fast. Breakfast sandwich the pickled veggies were delicious.

Excellent variety of beer and coffee selections. The atmosphere was lively as I watched the Liverpool game with a group of fellow soccer fans, making the experience even more enjoyable.
