Crab Shack On The Beach

This was our 2nd time eating in the crab shack, we booked at the beginning of the week to ensure we got a table and took the kids for an experience and the food, the staff are lovely the food is awesome, lovely place to eat however this time was a bit disappointing , asked for a beer of the menu, not available, no oysters, no mussels, no clams completely understand seafood is all seasonal so no drama, we opted to share a hot platter, (as this came with a whole lobster plus extras for only an extra £10 vs the cost of a lobster) and told they would swap the mussels and clams for extra something else as didn’t have these items. Sadly quite underwhelming. We’ve eaten here quite a few times over the last 7 or 8 years. Clearly a new direction but it’s a no from us! The food was tasty enough and staff lovely…..but… I had the special monkfish dish. £40 for literally three mouthfuls. No veg so that was extra. My wife had crab curry again quite flavoursome but just somehow lacking for the market they are trying to be in and quite difficult to eat. Go back to fresh fish cooked how you like it….. chain restaurants like Rockfish are better. I hate leaving average reviews too.

Delicious food and very attentive service. We stayed in the flat above a few years ago but just visited the restaurant this time. We had The Hake and mussels for main and faultless, great portion size. We booked ahead to secure a table a lovely intimate atmosphere with friendly staff.

Simply put, you must go to this restaurant. Indulge in their family deal featuring some of the best seafood I've ever tasted. Unbelievable. They also offer a great selection of wine.
