D & T Seafood & Restaurant

Went to Twillingate for a site see. At this date, mid Aug. no icebergs and town not worth the visit. Very untouristy not like Trinity. The restaurant lived up to comments about not judging it by the exterior. Very simple inside and a little tired. Servers pleasant and we tried clam chowder and the fish cake platter. Chowder tasty but small for price. Platter ok but can anyone here do decent fries and they did in N. Sydney? Don't ever order the coffee! If they wish to serve it need a Keurig. Ours tasted as though sat for hours. Luckily no refills were proffered. There would be a chance of a seaview but windows full of portable noisy airconditioners. I think they need all the amenities to get...

My husband and I were overnighting in Twillingate. Somewhat limited choices but we opted for this place due to the lobster and other seafood on the menu. Wasn't able to get the lobster, mussel and crab plate so had the whole lobster. Very nicely presented and much of the work freeing the meat already done. Husband had 2 piece cod and chips. Huge pieces of fish. Batter was a bit thick but tasty and fish was fresh and tasty. He even liked the tartar sauce which he normally passes on. Had a shared piece of blueberry pie for dessert. Crust was lovely. More like shortbread than pastry and filling was good although a bit scant. Good service as well. If you come to Twillingate check this local cafe...

If you like deep fried, this is the place for you. Or mussels -- pretty much the only non-fried option. My wife said the mussels were fine. My salmon was deep fried (why,?) and tasted okay -- but doesn't anyone have a grill around here?

This is very much a restaurant many locals visit on a regular basis, as well as us tourists, friendly staff, great food, and the fish and chips are excellent!

They say it is the place to go if you're a local. Prices are fairly good, for seafood. The place is a diner so ambiance isn't anything special.
