Dame Tartine Ste-Rose

the restaurant dame tartine is located in one of the oldest houses of the opposite, with so much of the original structure intact that it is a pleasure to visit. make sure to go up and take a look at the historical features. for eating and service it was average. there are many better breakfast places around so do not choose this place when food is their criteria. the French toast and waffeln were pretty good, but the rest was somewhat disappointing. the speck was unevenly cooked, the toast was thin and dry, which frightened fruit. that means I enjoyed being there more than anything for the experience. also the location is great as it combines a meal with a beautiful walk along the promenade...

Winter is nearing and we were on the lookout for an outdoor terrace breakfast place in the Ste Rose area and this was the first one we came across. It looked really cute from the outside so we decided to give it a go....The place is nice and clean, the terrace could use some fixing but it's also possibly that at this time of year the flowers have died and it may look nicer in the middle of summer. The service was fine, we waited a while before we were asked for coffee refills but the food did come in a timely manner. The food was ok, I mean it's breakfast, eggs and bacon. The only complaint I have is the toast was a little dry and a little hard and the hubby said the poached eggs were bland.

the choice is good. there is something for everyone, even if they are vegetarian. they serve a very good sneaky pate.
