Der Rauchfang - Reservar uma mesa

It was out first night in Germany this time and we we were pushed for time so we arrived at the restaurant at 20.55 and asked for a table. They said the kitchen closes at 21.00 but we will fit you in . They did and the food and service was excellent. It seemed like more of a locals restaurant than a tourist place [we thought everyone else in there was German]. So, while it has interesting decor it did not seem too touristy. My veal pattie with Chanterelles was the best meal I had on this trip.

We were staying at the Central hotel in Rudesheim and decided to try the restaurant in the building. The room is typically German with lots of exposed timber and rustic fittings. The menu is also traditional German fare, with some other cuisines evident to add further interest. Service was prompt and efficient. The wine list was reasonably extensive with mostly local Rheingau wines (and why not!! . We really enjoyed our meals and the value of the experience was high.

Really low prices for delicious culinair food. Ambiance was nice and a very friendly waiter. We had the trout with crispy skin, homemade remoulade, buttersoft potatoes and a fresh salad with a tasty dressing. As dessert i had frozen white chocolate mousse with strawberries and my wife had chocolate cake with vannila ice cream and whippes cream. We had 2 bottles of water. 55 euro for everything. Maybe the best food and prices in town.

I dined here this year and last summer, and each time I was delighted with the food, surroundings and service. If you are looking for a very good restaurant it is in a hotel), in Ruedesheim, then I can thoroughly recommend this one.

This is a very nice restaurent with eccelent food and wine. The staff is smiling and will do their best for to make it comfortable for the quests
