I had to change the reservation last minute due to a death in my family. The restaurant said they couldn 't cancel my reservation because it was very last minute. They advised that I will be charged $20 per head if I am a no show by Open Table. I reached out to Open Table and they have advised it is up to the restaurant 's policy. Either way, both sides are denying that they are the ones that are charging the fee. Eventually, the restaurant managed to changed my reservation. This is for sure something I don 't need to deal with when I am trying to make arrangements for a funeral. Also, is it lawful to charge $20 per head for a simple 8 person table reservation?! I was there for early business meeting, coffee and toast, The homemade Jam was to die for, I will be back. As It was early I could only comment on what we encountered. I would not consider it a waterfront venue but would refer to it as near the waterfront, great that it is close to the Wynyard escalators and David jones as easy to guide people there. I think the young man was new as I asked several questions about ordering and Birthday cake and he was unable to answer, he said I would have to check with management.
