Donut Star is my neighborhood donut shop and I've been there several times. Donuts are probably one of my all time favorite things to eat, and as I've gotten older I've become more discerning in what I look for in the perfect donut. I've learned that the real magic and skill is in the donut dough, or donut base. I think far too many places just place the focus on the toppings, the icing/frosting, over the top sprinkles, cereal, or cookie crumbles. I really appreciate when a donut is balanced and not overly sweet. With Donut Star the dough, regardless of the type of donut, just tastes like generic fried dough. One of the best donut spots in the valley hands down. Been to a majority of the donut spots in SLC and this is hands down a top 5 spot and a go to for me on a lazy Sunday morning. They always have a variety of good donuts and even other cookies and pastries. Although I've never tried the other options, next time I visit I want to try a pastry, cookie and possibly their coffee. But for donuts definitely a top spot! Check it out if you are looking for some really good classic donuts or even some fun filled donuts as well!Below in our picture are two glazed, M&M, blue sprinkled, raspberry filled, and Oreo filled.

Unlike other donut places where you have to rush to be there before 9am or they will be out of donuts, this place is absolutely stacked with every kind of donut you could think of. The apple fritter is my personal favorite and they nail it every time, not to mention it is huge!! The cronuts, Boston cream, and maple bars are also a fave.

Delish , moist and freshly made Donuts ! They have a great variety and not overly sweet . They also have bagels, danishes , and breakfast sandwiches and specialty donuts. Will definitely come back and try the Jalapeño cheese Bagel

Best classic donuts around. None of that gimmicky **** with loads of sweets on top of the same bland cake donut
