If you 're not a burger eater, this isn 't the place for you. We go there only when it 's the only place open (without a wait ...the kitchen is open til at least midnight, which is good for us after a movie or just our regular late dinner.<br/ <br/ My husband generally gets some version of a burger good but not great, especially since Red Coat is across the street. I 've learned to stick with sandwiches, which are HUGE...and on 'Jeff 's bread ', also very good. <br/ <br/ I 've made the mistake of going off into more sophisticated fare the other night I ordered the spicy shrimp appetizer 8 shrimp sauteed in spices...er, wait...a glob of brown gunk and a salad plate full of oil. The Pocahontas sandwich (French Dip) is great!! Comes with Au Jus and Horseradish with fries and side of coleslaw a perfect combination. During warmer months enjoy an open air feeling on the first or second floor. They also offer seating at the bar where many regulars gather to watch a game or just socialize. I've eaten there 50+ times and never been disappointed!!

World class burger. The Big Chief is worth the trip by itself. The sauce is really unique. Huge selection of draught beer. This is the epitome of a Woodward Avenue hamburger joint.Atmosphere is great; whether in the bar, or upstairs when the windows are all open in mild weather.Make thsi a 'must ' in the Detroit area.
