Earls Kitchen + Bar - Westhills - Calgary

Tuesdays is an excuse to visit Earls patio when the have both happy hour specials and half price wine bottles. We ordered the hot chicken wings made in the forno oven. They are less fatty that way. These were served with a dairy allergy friendly...dip for the celery. We followed with a garlic chicken chaser salad and a garlic chicken burger. We continue to stay away from Earls beef burgers as they are so overcooked as to be inedible. The chicken is much better. As usual the server was friendly and reasonably attentive.

I took out a business associate who resides on the West side of Calgary, so Earls in Westhills was a convenient lunch spot for him. Our Server was Sidnee and she gave us very good service. I was disappointed that this particular restaurant does not...carry the Teryaki Bowl, which I thoroughly enjoyed during my recent lunch at Earls in Dalhousie. I settled for the Chicken Kung Pao, which was good as usual. My guest ordered the chicken curry bowl. He said that it was delicious.

With the record hot weather we planned to go to Earls and enjoy the cool inside dining area. While the check in was a bit unfriendly, we got a table and the waitress Ayla was helpful and friendly. We ordered a California Chardonnay and had...forno wings to begin. They are very good cooked this way and gluten and dairy free. My entree was a rack of ribs while my wife had the blackened sirloin. The meats were properly prepared. It was a pleasant visit.

I tried the new garlic prawns and spaghettini. My table mates tried the brie and chicken sandwich and the sirloin peppercorn steak. All were delicious! The prawn sauce included chili flakes so I asked for it to be supplied separate. It was the right move...as I am allergic to really spicy food! I put a very small pinch of chili on the spaghettini. Just the right heat that I could enjoy! Good service and pleasant atmosphere!

With the crazy shut down it is hard to get a break so I ordered a pick up meal from Earl’s. The food was good but needed reheating by the time I got home. I miss the ambience of the patio.
