Entering the Eichhalde you feel like being home again.Nice Ambiente, no stylish Approach, a "Gastraum" to sit together, talk, enjoy the Food and the wine.You can pick the "Menu du Jour", the vegetarian, the "Mini Menu", a la carte as well or mix them all together.And when you are lucky you even can order items like "foie gras" not listed but hidden in the kitchen.We (4 preople) started with this superb foie, accompanied by a 0.5l bottle of Trokenbeerenauslese. an evening meal with two couples. we expected a lot and after checking the menu on their homepage our expectations increased. we were disappointed. the mushroom was almost raw, the petersilie spaghetti with 5 mini-Clams tasted just like petersilie. I had spaghetti vongole a thousand times better. the ravioli were good. the fish course was also good. very crispy skin. my kalbsalzimbocca was good, but the seranno was wrapped too thick. we chose the wee ourselves. they have a very good choice of Italian weeping and some bathing. the blood orange grappa was the best service was really friendly and present. the cost was too high.

This was without a doubt the best dining experience of our 2 week visit to the Freiburg area.We opted for the fixed course meal and were not disappointed,,everything well presented and delicious.Staff was friendly, accommodating (as we just did a walk up,no reservations)and went out of their way to ensure we well taken care of.Or only disappointment was that they were closed for the second week of our trip.Definitely a do not miss place.

We went for a cosy evening out during our stay in Freiburg. Lovely ambience, very romantic and warm. The food was delicious; the nougat mousse a dream! Service very attentive and kind. Booking recommended as the place is always full.
