El Castello - Reservar uma mesa

Like most places in la Chaume, even in the middle of August its possible to get a table here, away from the crowds on the beach front. A simple but well prepared menu du jour of two courses, a pice of hake with tagliatelle in a lemon butter sauce and a pear crumble and chocolate slice, then coffe, for 13.10 euros. Simple but excellent value. Time your arrival at the little ferry or you may find a long queue, or walk along to the smaller boat nearer the mouth of the channel.

The restaurant was busy, both on the terrace and inside. The menu isn 't as comprehensive as the previous management only one fixed price menu now but the prices were about the same. There was no beer pression . . We had got to know the previous owners quite well and missed seeing them, although the new staff were friendly and pleasant and the meal was good.

This was a comfortable, unpretentious restaurant with decent if unremarkable food. The pizzas were nicely crispy and the fresh pasta was served with a very good seafood sauce. We drank house wine, which was very acceptable. Service was good and friendly a pleasant evening.

midi menu (entrance/plat/dessert) to 19.90 euros nicely presented. friendly and efficient waitress. glass of wine at the correct price.

We have rather eaten well overall, efficient service, in time without too much waiting. with a magnificent view, thanks to the team
