El Castillo - Reservar uma mesa

I am here on the 18th July. I have not yet entered the room yet I cannot, in good conscience, provide more than a 1* review given the ‘welcome’ I received. Upon entering I cheerily said, “Hola.” This was as I opened the door. I was immediately beckoned to the other side of the desk. I can let this slide as perhaps the lady at reception did not want to open her mouth at the risk of covid infection from approximately 5 metres away. Following this, conversation commenced. “Nombre?” “Harry White” “No ingles, español” It’s my name but, nonetheless, let’s persist! As a side note, 5 minutes later and still no eye contact. This is a decent hotel in a nice town. There's a private, indoorcar park around the back for your car or bike. The rooms are decent and the price good, what more do you want? While I was in the shower there was a massive bang, bit it was only a Mercedes ramming a pick up truck under our window, see the attached photos and video. We later went out into the town to eat, I convinced my mate we could drink all night on tapas without buying a meal. It didn't end well and our final drink/tapas combo was whisky and haribos. It's a good hotel, I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Decent place for the money. Small rooms, but great location. Staff is extremely slow and uninterested, check in took forever (not sure why, didn't seem to have been any problems, they were just slow). Good wifi signal but pathetic bandwidth. Average food.

The hotel has an excellent location . The rooms are very clean and modern. In particular the reception staff were incredibly helpful and I am in their debt for the time spent assisting us who have poor Spanish to book our next accomodation.

Simple hotel, but quite OK. We discovered some very tiny ants in a corner of the room. The hotel has a nice hotel bar. Breakfast is simple but OK. It was easy and free to park on the street. Very good location, close to the old town.
