While the ambiance and food was delicious, for such a high caliber restaurant we were disappointed with the service. The wait staff was inattentive for the first half of our experience. We waited a long time for menus, ordering and drinks. Then my drink was taken from me when it was half full. You ask the customer first. After the reprimand things went smoothly. I can recommend oysters, scallops, and the filet mignon with mashed potatoes. The tuna tartare was disappointing because it was more like tuna poke- chunky, if that’s how you like it.

EL PORTAL has a fabulous Art Deco vibe .with beautiful lighting and decor. The menu was VERY hard to understand and because of language barrier .But an amazing selection of mainly fish. I personally would NOT consider it a tapas restaurant. The prices were VERY HIGH !!! and I would say definately over priced. The staff were efficient and pleasant and food great

Beautiful intimate setting, with great cocktails (especially the Hugo Spritz and the Royal Hibiscus). However, the food is definitely not up to its price. We paid 36€ for 4 tiny shrimps. The rest was good (artichoke croquetas) but the overall price is way to expensive especially for Alicante. I’d recommend to go but only for cocktails.

Feels like the epicentre of the classy side of Alicante. Gourmet seafood dishes. Service values of the highest order. Lots of chatter but very friendly and all orchestrated by the coolest DJ spinning some Afro House/Organic House. Perfect. Still haven't checked my bill, but I know it was worth it.

Fantastic food and atmosphere. Very chic with nice music. Everything tasted wonderful.
