El Portal De La Gallarda

El Portal de la Gallarda is one of the most charming restaurants in Castelló d'Empúries. Positioned just behind the old medieval wall, the views over the community gardens, the wetlands and the Serra de l'Albera are spectacular. The cuisine is local, with an offer that promotes Catalan cuisine with touches of creativity at a reasonable price. We ate spinach and pine nut croquettes, roast croquettes, roast chicken with delicious spicy touches and organic hamburger. The house tiramisu was delicious and so was the coffee. Congratulations to Anna and Marga, the two crackers who run this restaurant.

Great restaurant, essential address if you stop in the area!!!! The setting is exceptional, especially if you are lucky enough to have the table at viewpoint level. Ideal for a romantic evening with your other half or a good time with the family. The staff is also friendly. In terms of dish, I enjoyed it every time, I recommend their slow-cooked honey pork, a killer! All this with very affordable prices and great value for money. A safe bet, don’t change anything and thank you!
