Elme Hall - Reservar uma mesa

Have previously stopped here for refreshment numerous times over the last few years. Checked online before travel due to Covid situation Website looks normal and menus etc. are up, so we assumed it would be open as usual. Arrived on 11/10/20 to find the gates locked and the place deserted. Looked at the website today and they’re still claiming to be there and taking bookings, but since there was not even a staff car there on a Sunday lunchtime I very much doubt it really is open even for advance booking. I know times are hard, but couldn’t someone at least put a banner on the website saying they’ve gone? Or just take down the website? Three weary travellers are not happy.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff is friendly. However, the food was disappointing despite being affordable. The fish pie lacked sauce, the fishcakes seemed reheated, and all dishes were served with wilted salad. When asking for dressing, we were only offered salad cream. The lemon meringue pie was flavorless and overly sweetened with honey. The service was slow but the staff was pleasant. We do not plan on returning, as mentioned by other reviewers.

the staff in the elme hall was absolutely fantastic. the receptionist and the manager did everything they could to get us 3rd and 4th overnight. in the did were all the individual employees we met, including cleaning ladies and the restaurant/bar staff, friendly and courteous and gave excellent customer service. the accommodation was ideal and the breakfast and dinner were nice.

When you get to the hotel no luxury rooms no breakfast no bar the hotel is up for sale and your not told but they say their did sorry but no if we had know that we would had booked somewhere else so if you don’t want breakfast or a drink in the evening that find but the room are not good we paid &250 for two nights as we had a family wedding so please be careful

Food was lovely, but place was empty and no atmosphere which was a shame! Menus could be presented better then on tatty bits of paper!! No wine/drinks menu either! Sorry to say we won’t be back.
