We 've eaten here several times Ludo the owner can be a bit of a bear, but that 's no reason to steer clear of this lovely setting in the middle of the Périgord Noir. The service is great, the food really up to scratch, and even if you don 't like duck there are alternative choices available! What some people may not realise is that this is a proper ferme auberge that grows its own vegetables, raises it 's own ducks, and acquires the other ingredients locally. Ludo is somebody that wears his heart on his sleeve, and can occasionally be in a mood say if there 's been agricultural issues, or things like Covid that make business suffer between tree illnesses affecting walnut harvests, the bird...
Very enjoyable experience. Delicious food with excellent sarladaise potatoes which can sometimes be far too greasy. Confit duck fell off the bone. We were a group of 4 and had a mixture of menu and á la carte. Food arrived at different times because of this but we enjoyed the relaxed ambience of the evening. Sat outside and although it was a very warm evening there was plenty of shade and we were comfortable. Would recommend and will probably go back as we live locally.
The area is full of nice restaurant with the same good food where you will be welcome warmfully with a big smile and serve with car. Not at this place. The food is good BUT the owner attitude is rude and not very welcoming ! Never seen such a bad atmosphere. All the others customers were surprised like us. I didn't read the others bad opinions before going and now I can confirm them. Too bad for this place which could be great... Without the owner.
