Ferme Auberge L'Aghialle

Whilst there are excellent places to dine on this part of Corsican Coast many are cursed by the need to satisfy the wants of the many Summer tourists. Big colourful pictures of the food on offer (do tourists not read!? and the same 'local ' dishes served over and over again. Everything at L 'Aghjalle is raised on their farm, from the produce to the meat. It is authentic, simple and full of flavour. Service is warm and efficient; we laughed a lot with our waiter who patiently put up with our bastardisation of the French language. We ate here four times recently whilst staying in nearby Santa Reparata. Set amidst the farm's fields, with their own chambres d'hotes nearby, the restaurant provided us with wonderful meals and a great evening on every occasion. There are open terraced areas for warmer evenings and enclosed areas for chillier nights. The four course 30 euro menu accompanied by local wines and aperitifs is Corsican local cuisine at its very best. What a magnificent address to taste Corsican flavours, almost all of which comes from the family estate! everything is there, the setting, the taste and an irreproachable service! We'll be back!

Good traditional Corsican food in a pleasant setting. Service friendly and efficient. A bit off the beaten track, but well signposted from the village .
