Five and Dime - Reservar mesa

The first negative review I have ever given, and I am sorry to do so. I have noticed how busy this little restaurant is many times, and decided I really should give it a try. Only a few customers on an early Sunday morning so thought things would progress smoothly. Service was slow and disjointed. Even worse, the food was not up to par. My friend's meal was fine, but I was less than thrilled. Asked for a coffee refill and it didn't come until we were preparing to leave. Safe to say we will not be back.

We arrived for breakfast and there were 3 tables already seated. It took a while before menus were delivered. We ordered and got our coffee and the wait began. It was ridiculous. My coffee was finished and I had to beg for more. no one came to offer it. Food finally came- the plates were hot but the hash browns were Luke warm. Bread was plentiful and delicious. We spent too much time waiting for mediocre food. There were 2 young girls working the tables. who knows what was going on in the back.

Very cute decor and friendly, attentive service. It was a good stop for breakfast after taking the ferry from Vancouver. It was Canada Day so it was very busy in Sidney, yet the service at the Five and Dime was still spot on. We would have rated the restaurant higher, but my husband like more sauce on his benedicts and I like my eggs less cooked. Its very subjective and we should have let them know in advance. I would try it again and I would recommend it to others.

We had breakfast there (or tried to.) They gave us menus and coffee when we arrived. After that, they ignored us for 15 minutes, and there were still others with menus whose orders had not been taken and who had arrived before we did. Then we heard the waitress say to another table that the coffee machine was now broken. We left money on the table for the coffee and left.Clearly, they were unprepared to handle the number of tables they have in their establishment. Reserve uma mesa agora

We stopped in for a late lunch and looked at their all day breakfast menu page and ordered Eggs Benedict . Mine was traditional and my wife had Mexican flavor ( spice ) . The sauce was just terrible and salty for mine I asked the waitress if the bacon was back bacon and she replied yes but it was just regular bacon , half the plate was full of potatoes deep fried . No imagination no garnish poor presentation . We left feeling ripped off $36 later.

We stopped in for brunch, there were 7 of us and the service was spotty. We had our coffee order in early and did not get a refill for some time. It's a small thing but with a big group and other smaller groups getting their food first (I totally get that) coffee would go a long way to helping. The food arrived and was not hot. It was warm but good. We will be back, I am hopeful this visit was an anomaly.

We went for breakfast. The plates were plentiful, the prices were reasonable. The staff was friendly and service was good. It was basic breakfasts items on the menu, but that's what you'd expect at a diner. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Overall, it was good!

We have only had the chance to eat here once because they close so early so don't plan on them for dinner. However the one time we did was great we had burgers and they were probably the best I have ever had and I consider myself to be a burger expert lol Reserve uma mesa agora

What more could you ask for from a place called Five and Dime except for excellent home cooking that reminds you of the 50s even if you weren't alive then, you know the quality.

A great filling breakfast. I love the decor and the potatoes. Friendly service. Consistant food. You can't go wrong if you are just looking for a good breakfast.
