Gasthaus Steckerlfisch

I arrived at this rather scruffy place tired and thirsty after bird-watching in the area and just wanted to have a drink and sit for a few minutes. It was about 11 a.m. on a holiday, but there were hardly any people in the restaurant at that early hour. I was asked by an unfriendly waiter what I wanted and was immediately refused service, so say because all the tables were reserved. He was standing with two men having a beer, so probably didn't want to be bothered by a single woman wanting only a drink. The place is a little hard to find, at the far end of Weiden driving east. If you come on a Weekend, and you have no reservation you may find yourself out of luck. It is a simple place, that has made a name for itself. If it was located on the Lake shore, I am quite certain there would never be any seating available. We, a group of 5 including one child shared two Steckelrfisch Platten for two, and all the fish was fantastic, particularly the Steckerlfisch (Fisch, grilled over coal on a stick) Only downside, the side dishes could be a bit more imaginative and exciting. The service was great, despite the fact that they were very busy. Definitely a place worth a visit if in the Area.

very good plug-fish, unfortunately served a little sweet on a paper, with 2 plastic cups with sauce, therefore a point to go was already the 2nd time here, and were never disappointed. it is not inexpensive but, the taste (not fat) defoam. will be happy to come back. parking available.

If you want to eat far away from the elevated gastronomy, this is exactly right locally. here you get the fish heartily prepared. the selection is sufficient and there are also a few meat dishes. the service is sometimes a little overwhelmed, but you are very concerned about the gas.

the fish is good, but that's what it is. 15 euronen for a paper wound makrele? 8 euro for a teller dosensalat. we are not talking about an upscale restaurant, but about an extended snack bar on a loud and dusty crossing.
