This restaurant sets the bar incredibly high for any other experience you'll ever have in your entire life. Driving up the narrow and stunning mountain roads will already put you in a pleasant mood. One word, VIEWS!! The location is just exceptionally beautiful. On one side you'll be greeted by the gorgeous lake of constance in all its glory, on the other side the fantastic mountain range of the world famous alps. My heart melted a little when we were seated, our thoughtful waitress offered tiny stools to place our bags on and of course, I gladly accepted. I was celebrating a double birthday with some friends who had never been here before. It was an explosion of different tastes and flavours that were perfectly married together....Walter and his team at their best! The dishes were perfectly presented. One of guests had special dietary requirements, which were managed on the fly by the team. I have to compliment the service team who did an exceptional job, discreetly available whenever you needed them.
Wonderful food and one of the best wine selections in Switzerland. You must visit the wine cellar when you visit this restaurant, it is an experience on its own. The prefixed menu was good size and it gives a good idea of what the restaurant is capable of. If you plan to visit in the winter, allow yourself plenty of time!
The Gupf is one of the few places which are a must to visit. The dishes were just fantastic again. The wind cellar -well, you must see it to believe it. For me the Gupf is one of the best restaurants in Switzerland. It is for sure in the top 20. Reservations required.
