Gasthaus Zur alten Post

We visited this restaurant when touring the Piber Stud as we were staying in Voitsberg. We enjoyed the first dinner so much that we returned the next day. We had the special the first evening, a venison hunter stew- wonderful. The veal dish was excellent as well. The next evening we had the pizza. It's a generous portion, so we shared it and a full sized salad. We still talk of this restaurant, the quality of the food and good value.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch at the recommendation of a realtor we were working with from Voitsberg. Living in Austria, we eat regularly at various Gasthaus establishments the Gasthaus zur Alten Post is a step above! We have returned since that first time and found the food to be consistently good, with promo, friendly service. We recommend it, for sure!

Absolute disaster!!! We were not allowed to come in, even not to outside garden, because we were coming with our dog. I will never spent my money there!! Schreklich!!! Kein Zutritt für Hunde. Auch für Aussengarten!!! Warum??? Da werde Ich mein Geld nie lassen.

We stepped into this Gasthaus by coincidence and what a great coincidence. The Venison was the best I ever ate tender, delicious, perfectly prepared. So was the medley of mushrooms and the traditional Vogersalat with potatoes. Well worth a detour.

By far the best Austrian restaurant in town! Large portions, great food, fresh salads, great beer. Separated smokers and non smokers rooms and in summer it has a very nice sommer Garten where you can eat outside.
