Gasthof Engel - Reservar uma mesa

The food is traditional and don 't expect anything else. We went there for a family lunch and I choose the duck 'Thai style '. The only remembrance with Asian cooking was the fact that the meat came with rice and vegetables sautéed in a wok. No Thai herbs or spices (coriander, chilli, lemongrass or basil) could be detected and when I asked for fresh spicy chilli, I got some Chinese hot pepper sauce.

We had the pleasure of spending a night in a nice crowd. In the evening we were looking for a nice German restaurant that we landed in Engel. The service was ok, but rather unprofessional. The food was not good and not bad. Next time we're sure we'll find a better one in Überlingen....

We were recommended here by locals and were happy with the restaurant. The duo of white fish and salmon trout was very tasty and perfectly cooked. However, a friend was not impressed by her beef. Because I didn't taste it, I can't say.

If what you are looking for is traditional food then this is the place for you. The taste is perfect as was the service..there is a good selection of food sure to please the palate of the curious tourist. Try it and see for yourself!

delicious food, nice atmosphere, attentive humorous staff! we really enjoyed the local fresh fish and were impressed by the vegetarian vegan options recommended!
