Gaststatte Heimstettener See

Heimstettener See is an artificial lake, and actually the team have made good efforts to put together a nice spot for a biergarten. It could be excellent for a family picnic or badminton on the lake, but honestly didn't work at all for me. Maybe because it is too young to be a biergarten, or simply because there weren't many food options. It feels more like an imbiss on a lake than a soulful place for friends, and it is quite far for citydwellers or visitors to take a journey. Not recommended.

Lovely place to sit in the sunshine and drink a few beers. It is very much a local place for local people. We got a grunt every time we got a beer. When we wanted to leave no one would help us get or call a taxi. We were stuck for over an hour more than we needed to be!

we haven't tried the restaurant, but the lake is really amazing, it's really nice to visit with kids, the water is clean and beautiful and there also grill designated areas.

Go there for drinks! Food is just average-bad just fast food and not yummy at all. But nice place to be in summer !
