May 2024 Our previous dine in experiences here have been mixed. Our food has been nothing short of excellent but the waitstaff isn 't overwhelmingly great. In all fairness, they get the job done. Our last experience here within the last week may be our last. My wife found hair in her food. It was clearly not hers as it was nothing like her hair. While management handled the response correctly, we started to pay attention and notice little things. Things that we thought were required by health codes: the cook staff was not wearing hair nets or gloves from what we could see. In this day and age, this is unacceptable. I'm really torn here ... We ordered from Door Dash, so of course the meal was more expensive than if I'd picked it up from the restaurant. My main disappointment is the cost vs the portions given. Even at their regular menu prices (although, how does Door Dash get off charging $7 more for the Alfredo PLUS fees/charges?!?! , I would still feel like you don't quite get enough food for your money. I'm attaching a couple of photos that show how much of the bottom of the container you see. The reason I'm still giving a four star review despite the issue of cost/quantity is that the quality is there. ONE OF MY FAVORITES! You can’t NOT try Gavino’s. Casual family owned Italian restaurant with “I want to lick this plate” level food. There’s a reason the menu says “famous” garlic knots. I got the spaghetti and meatballs, and my husband got the lasagna. We topped it off with 2 cannolis and rolled out of there. Shoutout to our waiter, I didn’t get his name but he had a pineapple tat on his arm. He was fantastic. Thanks, Gavino’s!

The only complaint is 1 of the pizzas we ordered was supposed to have onions NOT mushrooms. It came out wrong. When we told the food runner and then our waitress neither one knew what to say or do. So we had to pick the mushrooms off. Still had to pay the full price. But the pizza was amazing. I love the crust being a little crunchy. The garlic knots were soooooo Good too!!! We got an antipasto salad and garlic knots. The salad was very well done, with tasty meat and cheese. Vegetables were cut into nice sized pieces. Dressing was excellent. Garlic knots were a little small, but had great taste. They were crisp and crunchy. We ordered more melted garlic butter for a small upcharge but it was worth it.

Food was great and affordable, has a cozy Italian atmosphere. I believe my servers name was Grant and he did an excellent job and was very funny. A server named Marybeth was also doing a great job but she was not as funny as Grant. Matt is a great pizza chef too. 5/5

My boyfriend brought me lunch. He said it was the best pizza in Knoxville. He was right!
