Georgie's Restaurant

As we were staying in the adjoining hotel we thought we'd have dinner at Georgie's. Were informed by front desk that parties 6 and more needed a reservation. At 6pm all we could get was an 8:15 reservation. Went for a long walk then arrived back at 8. Party of 3 adults, 3 kids (9, 6, 4.) The place was packed with a couple of small empty tables. Waited in the entrance until 8:15 before a server finally asked if we needed something. Told her we had a reservation which she confirmed. Said "10 minutes." 10 minutes went by and another waitress said "we just need to push some tables together. We were finally seated after 8:30. Positioned overlooking the harbour, the restaurant has great views and menus to match. Service as friendly and efficient and only comment was that my seafood penne compared to my wife's was luke warm but the staff quickly rectified this, otherwise food and service excellent. But the best was yet to come. Downstairs in the Pub, Mike the Pirate was on stage and entreated us to 2 sessions of Newfoundland songs, yarns and jokes. What a great night.warm

I was kind of disappointed when we went to Georgie's for dinner. Service was good, but we waited over an hour for our food. We split the flatbread appetizer and I had the salmon and my husband had the chicken pesto. It was pretty good but I was so famished that we just ate it quickly and left. All in all, a little disappointed.

Dined for dinner with my wife. The menu offers several dishes and specials but we ordered fish and chips and a hamburger. Food was was prepared and served hot. Service was attentive and friendly. The dining room overlooks the harbour and the bistro has local art on the walls. A warm and friendly restaurant.
