I found a restaurant that I love and am completely obsessed with! Just not the Gia Mia’s in Wheaton Today my kids were off school so my girlfriend and I decided to go to GIA MIA’s again with all our kids but this time decided to try out to the Wheaton location. I was really excited to go to this one as my husband and I used to live in Wheaton and also previously owned a restaurant in the area. GIA MIA in Wheaton is located on Hale St. we walked in and were met by two women, one with dark curly hair who appeared annoyed by our presence and both were not very welcoming. Friend and I decided to try Mia Gia yesterday afternoon for the first time. The hostess and server were exceptionally personable and always smiling, which was a great way to begin our experience. My friend ordered the Ceasar salad, and I ordered the peas Crostini. Both contained top quality fresh ingredients and were yummy. We both decided we would definitely be returning to try the pizza. The only reason I gave it an overall 4 star instead of 5 was our drink. I love my wine, but I was very disappointed in the red sangria. In my opinion, it had an awful aftertaste. Other than that, I have to say this is a real neighborhood gem.
Came in on a Sunday at 3pm for lunch. Ordered a drink and spinach artichoke fonduta for appetizer and it came very cold. I didn’t get my drink until 15mins later because I had to ask for it. Ordered a watermelon feta salad and received the WRONG salad. After 20 mins we had to get the server’s attention because they would ask how our food was.. ever. Then they bring the correct salad WITHOUT the feta. Another 10mins waiting we ask for the feta.. they bring GOAT cheese.. I get up to tell the server we got the wrong cheese and all get is the check. While my wife sat there and never got her food!
Gluten Free Pizza good, gluten free pasta dishes I would deter from. We went there at 9pm (close at 10pm) and even though they were a halfway full restaurant they seemed to be done. They brought out our pasta dishes in 2-3 minutes which would've been impressive IF they pulled it off. The regular vodka was fine according to my husband, but the gluten free vodka had ZERO flavor and as you can see lacked ingredients... I will still try to come back for pizza, especially half priced Monday pizzas but definitely won't be trying anything else. Which is sad. Reserve uma mesa agora
The Stinger Wood Fire pizza. Slight kick, personally would like it more spicy. But was great 10/10 would recommend. Paccheri Vodka Asked them to make it spicy and they came through for me. Great creamy noodle dish mwuah. By the time they came around to ask for a to go box it was already gone 10/10. Ricotta Honeycomb Warm, super soft bread. The combo of ricotta and honey was something I’ve never tried but was amazing.
This place is an example of OK food, not great. The host staff leaves a lot to be desired. I went there the other day, and I was mistreated by the host staff, ignoring me and seating a table of five before they set my group when I was there first. They weren’t my first choice to go to, although we thought we would give it a try.. Glad we left. I’ll never go back here even though I walk past there daily.
