We had just been to the massive shopping streets around Hohe Straße and we were in need of break from the madness of these streets when we headed to Gilden Haus which is a nice peaceful pub and an oasis of calm,it's a pub I...always visit on any holiday I take to Cologne as they serve some of the best Kölsch beers in this city and the staff are really nice and friendly. Located away from the busy Alt Markt up a side street this is my favourite place to relax in Cologne. A warm welcome and excellent Kolsch make this pub a great place to while away an hour or two. Two big TV's are great for...watching sport on and the food always looks very good, although I have only partaken in the home made Frikadelle which is very tasty.
