I came here to pick up some food for our softball game after work. I saw all the negative reviews and was worried but I didn 't have much time and I just wanted to get some lumpia for our game. After my experience here, I think I will have to agree with the negative review trend. When I entered the restaurant, I thought there wasn 't anyone there, no customers and no staff. So I just start looking around and tried to see if they had lumpia at all. A lady appeared from behind the counter and asked me what I wanted. Went to Golden Coin Waipio because my son was craving halo halo and my daughter wanted bibingka. Decided to get an order of pan de sol as well. My son specifically asked for a dozen pan de sol and the lady behind the counter (her name was Norma) repeated it back and said it would take 10 to cook. While we waited my son ate his halo halo which he thoroughly enjoyed. After about 10 or so Norma brought out a box of warm rolls and handed them to my son. We thanked her and headed to the car. Line starts here. I rarely come here for entrees, I'm mostly here for desserts. Because really most of these entrees you can make at home but desserts are a pain. But if you do feel like coming for a meal, the dishes are good. It's traditional Filipino food from pancit bihon or palabok or Miki (not the Maui kind) I don't get the rice because really almost every Asian household has a rice cooker. Unless it's garlic fried rice, then it's two scoops please. I use to go Waipahu location, menu selections for plate meals so confusing! Some choices they charge xtra for being a side choice? First place ever!! that do it that way! Honestly! I wouldn’t go back to any of thier location!! Overpriced! customer sevice sucks!! Food good! But OVERPRICED! And confusing and rip off! the way they charge?? For side dishes! Decent place to get your Pinoy grinds. I don't recommend the inihaw na liempo though. As good as it looked on the warmer it was dry and very jerky like chewy and hard. Unless you don't mind paying to repair your teeth stay away from that. Other than that the kare-kare is good and mostly all the desserts. They specialize in that. Can't go wrong with the lechon also. It's ono!
