Regular readers of my reviews will know that I am extremely fussy about Fish and Chips. I have visited every single fish bar within a 5 mile radius in my search for a good piece of cod and chips. The Golden Kitchen in North Harrow is definitely amongst the top 3. I used to visit here as a child and teenager, and the food was great. Then it started slipping, and a few years before their retirement, the quality of food from the previous owners went seriously downhill. I have been visiting the golden kitchen in north harrow for 40 years. it's as magnetically appealing now as it was when I was 9. a family-run business with good, old-fashioned hospitality and high-quality food in the heart of their ethos, why should they go somewhere else? Absolutely delicious. The fish portions were a good size and cooked perfectly; one piece in batter and the other in Matzo meal. The Large portion of chips was huge. The mushy peas may have been a bit watery. We had placed our order in person earlier in the day for collection that evening, and everything was ready and waiting for us at the scheduled time. It was delicious.

This place used to be fantastic but it seems to be taken over by someone else now. The service is slow even when there aren't people waiting and the service just isn't what it used to be. The food is still great but they're going to lose a lot of customers if they don't sort things out.

Great place. New owner is very friendly and the food is as good as it ever was. Would not hesitate to return and also sit inside now that restrictions are lifted.
