Grandma's Soul Food

I initially went in right before lunch ended for the lunch special for $5.99. The posted sign said lunch special from 11am-3pm. Meat, 2 sides and a roll. The time was 12:41. After placing my order with my card I was given a receipt to sign. It had the total I owed the restaurant and another amount for .29. I asked grandma what was this twenty-nine cents charge and she explained that's how much they charge to use cards. So I asked what was the total for the meal and she said I had to add it up then sign the receipt. The total came to $8.15. the woman and I decided to go for the day after richmond, and after a day full of fun we decided to have a real soul food. what could be more real than a place called grandma 's soul food? we found out what was an absolute hole in the wall, and knew we were for a tasty bite. this was confirmed after ordering with the cashier who had to scream back into the kitchen to see what was fresh, and was answered by someone I suspect to be grandmother. and wait (I can not emphasize enough that they should call in their order, although we were from the city and did not have this luxury), we finally got our food. and oh one was worth waiting! hands down...read more

Waited an hour and 17 minutes for 2 wing dinners. I knew it was going to take an hour or more because they're known for that. It would be nice if they would say that instead of 25 minutes. The bread was molded (you can see it in the picture) the mac and cheese taste like sweet potatoes. This is the last time we’ll be going there.

I ordered on doordash waited a whole hour my dasher got to the store the lady gone say she dont do doordash she very unprofessional I wouldn’t recommend her to nobody.

the food was delicious! I was not and had to wait 30 minutes. but wait is worth it!
