Grill Courtepaille

We'd had such a good experience the previous week at the Courtepaille in Troyes, when we were faced with needing to find a restaurant at short notice and without a reservation (our hotel restaurant was closed we were very relieved to find a Courtepaille close by on the Sat Nav. As for our previous experience, we arrived at about 7.30pm and we greeted by the waitress who showed us (2 adults, a pre schooler and baby in a pram to a large table with room around it for the pram and not so close to anyone else that we could unintentionally annoy them. After ordering (the Menu Petit Grill for the grown ups and the Baby Paillou for our daughter we were, again brought a plate of salami and cornichons...

The food was tasty and arrived very quickly we were able to watch it being prepared on the large grill near our table. A good range of grilled meats available. The staff, whilst efficient, were not overly friendly. They did bring a plate of food out for our toddler straight away (before our food was ready) which was thoughtful. They also gave us not only bread, but a plate of dressed salad, each whilst we waited for our mains which was a nice touch. n We were not convinced the wine we ordered was what actually arrived and I'd also mention a glass of the house red arrived really cold which spoilt it somewhat. All in all though, we would certainly go back as it was very good value for a tasty...

We stayed at the Best Hotel which is around 200 meters away and were looking for a place to have dinner without having to move the car. The food was of good quality and reasonably priced. As can be expected for a grill, they had different types of meat and sausages. the only bottomside was that I felt that 5 euros for a small bottle of Heineken beer was probably too expensive.

Stayed in local hotel April 21st 2017 and wanted quick meal. Came across this place by accident. Food was excellent had fried chicken and pepper sauce, though their meat dishes looked great too, but most impressive was the attentive and friendly staff. Asked best guy his name...it was Seran...spoke excellent English and should be noted by senior execs of the company!

The experience started with complimentary Salad Baguette. We ordered a variety of Grill items from Steak, Hamburger, Chicken... All the Dishes were great. The highlight is the live grill where you can see your meat being prepared. Overall a must visit if you are near by.
