Hammer & Tongs - Reservar mesa

This restaurant is styled like a South African BBQ, known as a braai. If you're a meat lover, this place is perfect for you, but they also offer some vegetarian options. While they offer meat sharing platters, we decided to choose our own dishes. The portion sizes were smaller than expected for the price, so we had to order more food once it arrived. Our main dishes were tasty, but the malva pudding dessert (similar to treacle pudding with apricot flavor) tasted burnt on the outside. In hindsight, we should have ordered more main dishes instead of dessert. The service was decent, although it took a while for them to bring the bill and process payment. This place is a great place for the meats but was terrible and came up short when I got my drink. For the meal I had the borewore sausage, the biltong, fries and chicken skewers all really tasty. Great caramelized sauce on them. For the drink I went for my all time favourite old fashioned, 10 quid usual price to pay for such a great drink but when it came it looked like someone had nearly finished it. Was massively disappointed that my drink was not a) worth the tenner I spent on it and b) not gonna last me the length of my meal. That's where you guys lost the last two stars for me. Please take note guys, every other great place will make sure that drink is upto the top where it should be.

Fantastic food, atmosphere and service. The smell of the wood fired grills gives off a wonderful aroma as you walk in. We ordered the beer bread starter, half a meter of boerewors, the Cape Malay veggie curry and the honey chicken sosatie. The food was excellent and great quality and flavour and I say this as a native south African. Finished off with a Malva pudding for dessert, a south African favourite! The service staff were super friendly and attentive too.

Proper delicious food! Genuine high end South African braai food. Went with the MeatUp crew and made our own platter... Boerewors, T-bone steak, rib-eye steak, lamb chops (in a glorious chutney based sauce) and pork ribs. Came with a yummy Peri Peri sauce and a tasty relish. Even the kale was smoked and buttery. Ended with a traditional malva pudding which was also spot on. Good job. Hopefully see you again soon. Reserve uma mesa agora

We enjoyed a fantastic selection of well-cooked meats, including the Baby Braai. The beer selection was excellent, with most of the group trying different varieties. We also tried a few wines, which were equally good. This is a perfect spot for an indoor BBQ on a rainy day, with platters to share for groups of all sizes. Thank you for a great experience!

We had a delightful experience at this restaurant. The waiter we had was very friendly and attentive, explaining everything to us. The food was flavorful and fresh, and we had plenty to share between the two of us. We would definitely come back here again.
