Heuriger Wieninger

While in Vienna, my husband and I were determined to try a Heuriger, a local wine garden. A waiter at another restaurant recommended this one as having the best food. It is not easy to get to -- it U-Bahn plus a cab or the 31 Tram to the end of the line - but if you want to see a have a true Vienna experience, this is hard to beat. The garden setting is absolutely delightful in nice weather - although be prepared for people smoking - and we were surrounded by locals meeting friends and celebrating special occasions. Das Ambiente im Gastgarten des Heurigen Wieninger ist wunderschön. Das Speisenangebot ist gut. Die Qualität ist durchwachsen; während mein Wiener Schnitzel in Ordnung (aber nicht mehr) war, waren einige meiner Begleiter weniger zufrieden. Die Weine sind gut und fair kalkuliert. Der Service hingegen war richtig schlecht. Zunächst mal war unsere Reservierung abhanden gekommen (obwohl ich am Vorabend angerufen und sie mir nochmals hatte bestätigen lassen). Die Hauptspeisen kamen vor der Vorspeise. Bei zwei Hauptgerichten fehlte das Erdäpfelpürree. great heuriger with excellent food and good choice of weeping. the variety of foods is unusually large for a more cheerful. the weeps come from our own vineyards, with a larger selection of white wines and some red wines. the prices for food as well as for wine are not cheap, but acceptable in view of quality.

absolutely amazing place, good a visit to the Austrian kitchen, wein and ambiente all fabulous. we visit every time we visit. would recommend anyone who wishes an Austrian experience.

This is a wonderful place. The food, wine, service and atmosphere are terrific. This was my third visit over the last 10 years. I make it a part of every work trip to Vienna.
