Hirsch Restaurant Cafe Bar

General The deer is located in the old town of Langenberg. We had already heard a lot of good about the newly opened restaurant and were now in the big round on the occasion of a birthday in the Hirsch. We were welcomed by a younger waiter and brought to our reserved table in the back of the restaurant. The waiter was cheerful and tried, but in the course of the evening he seemed more often somewhat unhappy. The waiting period for the food appeared a bit long, but it was probably the full restaurant. The menu was optimal from the selection. A little confusing was the addition of deer (e.g. Hirsch -Stroganoff), which was related to the name of the restaurant and not the supposedly used meat....

Just great! As an appetizer, I had refined the red beetroot soup with horseradish, with a warm sheep cheese mandelpraline and as the main course Herrentoast in the deer.... roasted white bread with a calfscarf, roasted mushrooms, onions, mirror eggs and cheese over baking from the noon menu. My wife had pink roasted calf livers with glazed Calvados apples, potato puree, roasted onions and strong calfsus. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to try another dessert, but that's definitely going to be retrieved! Service was also perfect.

The deer has been reopened since 8.1.2019 under new direction. It's just Monday's rest day. The lunch table offers delicious dishes very inexpensive. With soup, main course and dessert a great menu can be consumed for 15 euros. Last week there were magnificent Zander and two other dishes. Today it was allowed to be smoked salmon with an oven potato. Very good kitchen, a friendly service and a nice ambience invite you.

Nice place with beer garden in the beautiful Velbert old town. We can't say anything about the food, because we have consumed some cool drinks here. But: Location prima, service nice, prices ok. Anyone who gets thirsty when visiting the old town can come here without a doubt!
